CERTIFIED PLATINUM COINS
Many investors and collectors prefer certified coins for a reason. Certified coins are a guarantee in authenticity, and they offer excellent protection in holding their value. Additionally, they are quick to resell, and an easy way to know the condition and quality of a coin. Furthermore, certified coins come in protective plastic “slab” packaging that protects the coin from damage and has counterfeit features. You’ll find a serial number and barcode at the top of each slab.
NGC OR PCGS
Both the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) are considered the top two primary grading services for bullion. They both use the Sheldon rating scale, which grades from 1-70. One is the worst and 70 is perfect condition. Each company has over a million certified coins under their belt—grading the visual beauty and brilliance and the physical condition of the coins. Early Release/First Strike means the coin grades within the first month of the coin’s release date. First Day of Release means the coin grades within the first 24 hours of its release. For platinum coins, another category is DCAM/UCAM. This means that the coin is proof platinum and has a gorgeous frosted matte design and deeply-mirrored background.
BRITANNIA COIN SERIES
This popular series features Britannia, the female exemplification of Great Britain. She is a symbol of strength, integrity, and peace. On the reverse, Britannia wears her classic toga and war helmet with her shield and trident in hand. On the obverse side of this gorgeous coin is Queen Elizabeth II wearing her diadem. Queen Elizabeth II is known as the longest-reigning monarch. This series started in 1987 with gold coins which then evolved into silver and now platinum. These are highly popular bullion coins among both investors and collectors alike.
ISLE OF MAN NOBLES
The platinum Nobles coin came from Edward the third in 1344. The reverse showcases a stunning Viking longboat as it sails upon the open seas. The Viking theme is vital because it relates to Parliament’s origins of the Isle of Man. The Vikings were on the island over 1000 years ago. The obverse features the Queen. The Isle of Man is self-governing and on the Irish sea, located between Ireland and Great Britain.
CHINESE PANDA COIN SERIES
Known to be as popular as the likes of the American Eagle and Maple Leaf coins, the Chinese Panda series has been a favorite on the market since 1982. The reverse design changes every year, although always keeping with the beloved panda design. The Chinese people so love the panda for its meek temperament, beautiful colors, and innocent appearance. The obverse stays the same each year with an image of the spiritual Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest. This hall is in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. This coin is highly favored among collectors and is available in gold, silver, and platinum.
The American Eagle is perhaps one of the most famous coins worldwide from the US Mint. Collectors and investors consider this coin as high-demand. American Eagles are also an elegant celebration of the freedom and opportunity that America brings. Furthermore, it comes in palladium, platinum, gold, and silver. Adolph Weinman was responsible for this timeless and iconic design. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty and the reverse changes yearly. This coin is .9995 fine platinum.
